Current Deals:
Naked Broadband is broadband without a home phone line. This is a cheaper option if you don't really use your landline much & don't need it or use your mobile all the time. This can save you $40 or more each month as you don't need to pay for your phone line!
(If you need a phone line, you can use a VOIP Phone (Voice Over Internet Protocol) making calls through an internet phone rather than through the phone line. (like Skype). With these you can phone any number in New Zealand or around the world just like a normal phone you just have to do it through your computer or VOIP telephone adaptor.
Orcon, Slingshot, Xnet (Worldxchange) allow you to have a landline number operating through broadband so you can still make & receive calls without a landline.
Overall
The Vodafone Naked Broadband deal seems particularly attractive if you have a Vodafone Mobile On Account contract anyway as it is the cheapest.
Otherwise if you don't have a Vodafone mobile contract the Orcon deal seems pretty good.
